Academically priced software is exactly what the name indicates — software that is specially priced for the academic community. Many leading software publishers have identified the academic community as opinion leaders for their products. And have announced “academic” or “education” programs to offer their software to the academic community at specially discounted prices.

So, what is the difference between the products being offered at these specially discounted prices and the commercial versions of these products?

Absolutely nothing. These products are identical to the regular commercial versions. They are complete — no features disabled, and include manuals, registration cards etc. etc.. (Note : Some exceptions do exist. Please contact us for details). The products are registerable and upgradeable — just like the regular commercial pack.

As an Educational Institution, Student, Faculty or Staff member, you are eligible to purchase legal, licenced software packages that you find in listed on this website at special academic prices. Proof of academic status required.

 

Who’s an Eligible Customer?

Each publisher we represent qualifies a group of customers to purchase their products at these specially discounted prices. For detailed description of who’s eligible to purchase each product, please contact us. Academically priced software can be sold to the following categories of customers –

Educational Institutions :

Public or Private K-12; Vocational Schools; Junior Colleges; College; University; and Scientific or Technical Institutions accredited by associations recognized by the Department/Ministry of Education, Educational Regulatory Body and/or the State Board of Education providing a full-time academic  programme.

Preschools meeting all the following criteria – (i) is an early childhood program that serves a minimum of ten children ages two through five; (ii) has been in operation for at least one year; (iii) provides educational services.

Administrative Offices or Board of Education of Educational Institutions

District, regional , and state administrative offices of the Educational Institutions defined above.

Hospitals solely owned by an Educational Institution.

Faculty & Staff :

Full and Part-time faculty and staff of all Public or Private K-12, Vocational Schools, Junior Colleges, Colleges, Universities, Scientific and Technical Institutions as defined above.

Students :

Full and Part-time matriculated students of all Public or Private K-12, Vocational Schools, Junior Colleges, Colleges, Universities, Scientific and Technical Institutions as defined above.

Home Schooled Students:

Home schooled students are eligible to purchase a number of the products we carry. Please call us to confirm eligibility for a specific product. Documentation of home school status is required for every order.

Public Libraries :

Public Libraries that meet all of these criteria – (i) provides general library services without charge to all residents of a given community, district or region; (ii) is supported by public or private funds; (iii) makes its basic collections and basic services available to the population of its legal service area to all individual users, but may impose charges on users outside its legal services area. NOTE: Some publishers do not qualify Public Libraries – please call or email us for information on specific products/ publishers.

Public Museums :

Public Museums that meet all of these criteria – (i) are a public or private agency or insitution organized on a permanant basis for essentially educational or aesthetic purposes; (ii) utilizes a professional staff, (iii) owns or utilizes tangible objects, cares for them and exhibits them to the general public on a regular basis. NOTE: Some publishers do not qualify Public Museums – please call or email us for information on specific products/ publishers.

Non Profit Organizations:

IRS 501c3 Non-Profit Organizations qualify to purchase many products from our catalog.

Churches/ Other Theological Organizations:

Churches and other theological organizations qualify to purchase many products from our catalog. However, some publishers do not qualify churches/ theological organizations, please call or email us for information on specific products/ publishers.
